March 24 Program

Chelsey Birgisdottir from the ACLU will be our guest speaker.

2020 has brought a new report by Campaign Zero that looks at the issue of racial and identity profiling in CA by the San Diego Police Department and San Diego Sheriff Department’s data and analyzes it for disparities. Unsurprisingly, it confirmed what many communities across California have shared about their experience with the police: that people are being profiled and policed differently based on their identity. With this new data, we now have numbers to understand the severity of biased policing issues.

ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties will share findings from these latest reports and share how to get involved in their #ENDTHESTOPS campaign.

Please join us Tuesday, March 24 at Joyce Beers Community Center, 3900 Vermont. 6:30 p.m., social, 7:00 p.m., program. We are open to the public!
