Refugees and Immigration
The current federal administration is seeking bans on refugees and immigration — causing hate, fear, and uncertainty. San Diego County accepts more refugees than any other county in California, approximately 1,000 per year, and is home to some of the largest Somali, Syrian and Iraqi populations in the U.S.
Our speakers will be Mustafa Dib and Dhaha Nur from PANA and Ginger Jacobs, noted San Diego Immigration Attorney.
Pana (Partnership for the Advancement of New Americans) is a research, public policy, and community organizing hub dedicated to advancing the full economic, social and civil inclusion of refugees. Mustafa is a native of Syria and resettled with his family in San Diego in 2015. He currently works as a community organizer for PANA. Dhaha is from Somalia.
Ginger Jacobs is the founder and managing partner of Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP. Ms. Jacobs practices all areas of immigration law but is best known for her work with vulnerable populations.
