Todd Gloria is the President of the San Diego City Council and is serving his second term as a Council Member, representing Council District 3 – the Uptown Area.  In 2011 and 2012 he was named San Diego’s Best Elected Official by the readers of CityBeat.

During his first term he championed increased infrastructure investment.  He also led the way for San Diego’s first permanent year-round homeless service center and was a leading advocate for transportation options, including a stronger public transit system.  As Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee in 2011 and 2012 he developed the budgets that stabilized the City’s finances.
Prior to his election he served as District Director to Congresswoman Susan Davis.
Todd also represents San Diego on the boards of the San Diego Association of Governments  (SANDAG) and the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS).
Mr. Gloria will be our speaker at the June meeting. He is, of course, a Democrat.

Dan McAllister
Dan McAllister was elected San Diego County’s Treasurer-Tax Collector in November 2002 and reelected to his third term in June 2010 by an overwhelming 78% majority of the vote. Not only is he responsible for the collection of more than $4.5 billion in property taxes each year, but his office also manages the investment of nearly $7.2 billion in the County’s Investment Pool, ensuring that these funds are wisely invested and safeguarded for entities such as the school districts and cities in the County.
Dan also serves as a member of the San Diego County Employees Retirement Association, which manages investments approximately $8.3 billion. Additionally, he is a former chairman of the Board of Directors of the internationally recognized San Diego Convention Center Corporation.
